High Energy Physics Laboratory

The only High Energy Physics (HEP) laboratory in a Philippine university. Established in 1995 through the effort of Dr. Angelina M. Bacala (then Chairman of the Physics Department). It seeks to promote the advancement of science through joint researches and publications related to High Energy Physics. This laboratory aims to produce valuable researches through collaborative works in high energy physics such as determination of particle properties, cosmic rays, and radioactivity. It also aims to develop new technologies as an output of collective researches that will provide a link between research institutions and industries.

Vision

The Particle Detector's Group (PDG), a group of physicists from tertiary schools in Mindanao based at MSU-IIT, seeks to promote the advancement of science through collaborative researches and publications related to High Energy Physics. It also seeks to produce scientifically oriented, highly qualified and internationally competitive physicists.

Mission

(1) To promote IITHEP Laboratory as a center of research institution in high    energy physics through active involvement and participation in hosting a local and national conferences/workshops.

(2) To produce valuable and feasible researches in high-energy physics through collaborative works between IITHEP and Niigata HEP.

(3) To develop new technologies as an output of collective researches that will provide a link between research institutions and industries.

(4) To publish quality and internationally accepted scientific papers in high-energy physics particularly in particle detection.
